WASITIRI: Bukoba Secondary
School Mission
Breaking barriers and restoring dignity. We are setting out to support 200 school-girls with essential sanitary pads and menstrual health education.
Campaign Launch: October 2024 at KCU Hall
The inaugural "Wasitiri" Campaign was officially launched at the KCU Hall in Bukoba by Hon. Fatma Mwassa, then Regional Commissioner for Kagera. The event marked the beginning of a region-wide movement to ensure safe menstruation and educational dignity for thousands of girls. RC Mwassa highlighted that the need for sanitary supplies is often the most profound, yet unspoken, barrier to rural girls' success.
The ceremony was graced by powerful performances from three choirs from Bukoba and one from Uganda, who filled the hall with sacred and campaign music centered on the theme of "deeds of mercy." These vibrant musical groups, whose performances are captured in the photo gallery below, added a spiritual and communal depth to the launch of our humanitarian mission.
